Trials

This week has been an interesting week for me.On Wednesday my brother had his court of honor in Kingman Az. I really wanted to be there. but as I had been in Arizona this summer we could not afford for me to go there again. But it turned out to be a blessing that I did not go because about 1:00 Wednesday morning Alex woke up with a fever and throwing up. So I got to stay up all night with him. Thank goodness for priesthood blessings and herbs. By wednesday evening Alex was feeling like his normal self. But because I was not getting any sleep I developed a cold. On top of this I was asked to speak in church this sunday! So I needed to prepare a talk as well. This is not easy to do when you don't feel well. Saturday afternoon Stephen took the boys somewhere so that I could get some sleep and maybe feel better. When they came home Stephen told me there was something wrong with the car. I had noticed that morning that it was draging at very low speeds. HE said that he had had trouble starting it while he was gone. So Last night I said a prayer that the car would start in the morning so we could go to church. Well this morning I got up and got everybody ready and I made last minute changes to my talk. We all got in the car and the car would not start. We ended up calling our neighbor who let us borrow their other car so we could get to church. I think Someone was trying really hard for me not to give my talk today. It was interesting because all the talks today in sacrament meeting went alonf with the lessons in Relief Society and Sunday School. I amso glad that I made it to church becasue I needed to be there today! I really hope that all that is wrong with our car is the battery. We will find oout when my husband gets home from doing his calling!

Our Trip To Boise

So the Boise Temple has been Remodeled. We we decided that to it would be fun to take the boys to see it was time for the open house for the temple so that the public can see what is inside the temple before it is dedicated. Boy has someone been trying really hard so that we would npot make it to the temple. It started ASunday night before we were to go. We had gotten everything packed and were eating dinner when all of a sudden Alex Started Throwing up. I cleaned him up and took care of him and put him in the bathtub. I put Digize on him so that his tummy would feel better then I put the kids to bed. Then on Monday moringin we got up and left about 7:15 bin the morning. We got to I205 and there was a car fire which backed traffic up for about half an hour.but eventually we got on our way again. We ate Lucnh in LeGrande Oregon at the KFC There. We arrived in Idaho at about 5:30. We ate a light dinner and eventually tried to put the boys to bed. But becasue the boys had been in the car all day they just had too much pent up energy. Alex ended up getting hurt and bit his tongue really hard. But eventually they went to sleep. Then Stephen could not sleep So I ened up moving to the couch so that I could get some sleep becasue I knew that one of us needed to get some sleep. Then that night it decided to ppour down ain iot started raining so much that I was afriad that we might have a flash flood. Nobody wanted to get up in the morning and the rain was terrible. As we were driving to the temple we got pulled over by a cop. luckly he just gave us a warning. It was grey and really ugly when we got to the temple. We watched a short video about the History of the Boise temple and then we got to go and tour the temple. Alex threw a fit when we put the booties on to go into the temple. THe booties are so that we don't scuff up the floors in the temple and get tem dirty. So I hel ALex as we walked into the door and stood in the foyer of the temple. I was overwhelmed with the most wonderfully warm and comforting feeling as I realized that i was in the temple with my boys. ALex then looked at me and said "mommy you are crying", which of course started the tears running down my face. Alex really liked lookiong at the pictures of Jesus in the temple. When we walked out of the temple it was the most incredible blyue sky and the sun was shiny. Yoyu would never have known that a half hour earlier it had been all grey and yunky and pouring ddown rain. I am so grateful That we were able to make it to the open house and feel of the spirit in the temple.

First Day of Kindergarten

SO today was the First day of Kindergarten for Benjamin. Wow! I can't believe he is in school already. He is in the afternoon Kindergarten. So he had to wait a little bit to go to school. About 10:00 this morning Benji came up to me all dressed and said Okay Mom! I am already to go to school. Lets Go. I laughed and said we still have 2 hours before we can go to school. We ended up going out to lunch with our next dorr neighbors and a couple of other ladies from our ward. AFter lunch we drove the boys to school. It was kind of sad leaving Benjamin in the class room. Alex did not like it at all. When We got home, Alex stared crying saying he wanted Benji to come him. He did not want Benji at school at all. It is kind og interesting being on this side of the school day. When I was in school I never thought about what my mom or siblings did while i was at school and they were at home. Here are a few pictures of Benjamin and his first Day of School.

CATCH up

Wow It has been awhile since I have blogged. THis summer seems to have gone by really fast.In July the boys and I Rented a car And I drove to my parents house in Kingman Arizona. Now let me tell you that is one long drive. I did the Drive in 2 days. The First Day I drove to my sisters in Roseville. That is an 8 hour drive from my home in ORegon. Then the next day the boys and I got in the Car and Drove to Kingman Arizona. That is a 10 hour trip from my sister's house. That was one long car ride. BY the time I got to my parents house, I was really sick of listening to Hank The Cowdog. NOw I can say that I have been on part of Route 66. THe boys and I stayed at my parents house for a week and two Days. That was fun. It was nice to see my Grandma and my parents and my little brother who is taller then me now. One of the DAys there my mom took us to Las Vegas to see the temple and for her to do some grocery shopping. Let me tell you the heat in Las Vegas was awful. I Felt like I was melting. I do not know why people live in Las Vegas intentionally. On the way back to Arizona, we found the coolest water park. Yes I did intend the pun. It had guns to shoot water and It was just what we needed to cool down. My Boys really loved my mothers dog. Ever since we came home they have either been asking for a dog or when they can go see Ruby again. On the way back home I was caravaning with my sister and the drivers were not very nice. By the time we got to my sisters house I was sick of the car and did not want to get back into it again. But I still had another 8 hours to go to get home. the boys and I got back home safely. Alex turned 4 in august and he is finally potty trained. I really thought that was never going to happen but it finally did. Benjamin is getting ready to start Kindergarten in Tuesday. I can't believe that my baby is old enough for kindergarten already. He is really excited for school and this should be a good experience for him. I will be teaching preschool for alex and a couple of other kids too. this should be fun for him and it is a round robin so I only have to teach 1 week a month because there a three other moms doing it as well. But this means that I will be driving one day a week and So I will get the car every tuesday now. Yea! Here are some pictures from arizona and Alex's Birthday. I like the Picture of my Brother standing on the rock. For some reason he reminded me od Samuel the Lamanite.

Utah Vacation Hogle Zoo

While we were in utah we decided to go to the zoo. It was so much fun taking the kids to see the animals. THere was a lion water fountain there thatif I remember right my grandmother has a picture of her and my mom at it. So I had to have a picture of my boys at it.I really loved the elephants. They had a momma and a baby elephant that were absolutly adorable. So here are some pictures of that.

Utah Vacation Temple Square

Wow it has been A while since I have blogged. But my life has been pretty hectic lately. We just got back from a vaction in utah. It was so nice to be in a dryer climate. My allegeries disappered while I was there and then hit me full throtle when I came back to Oregon. We are trying to move to utah which is why we went. But we had fun while stephen was job hunting. We Spent an entire day on Temple Square in Salt Lake. That was amazing. Benjamin and Alex really loved seeing the Salt Lake Temple. It was a lot of fun Going to see the conference center and looking out over the valley on the observation deck in the Church office building. I had forgotton how pretty the Joseph Smith memorial building really was. The boys loved playing at the church history museum. By the time we were done with temple square it was 9:00 at night. I think my favorite part of being at tample square though was when we went to the legacy theater in the Joseph Smith Memorial building and watched Joseph smith the prophet. It was told though the words of his mother. We came to the part were the mob was tormenting joseph and benji quit loudly said "those are bad guys" my husband and I cracked up and so did the people around us. Here are some pictures from our time on temple Square.

Cabin Fever

Wow I cannot believe that it is January already. Welcome 2012! This last week I have beeen having a serous case of Cabin Fever. My Boys got a case of The Chicken pox. So we have been in quareenteen and stuck in the house because it has been snowing and now it has been raining so much that Salem and most of the Willamette Valley is Flooding! Oh Joy! So I have had the song Cabin Fever from the Muppets Treasure Island running though my head the last couple of Days!
Benjamin has been really good about the Chicken pox but Alex is such a grump. Alex dose not make a very good patient! He has been so grumpy and he does not want to sleep at night unless it is on top of me! So I have not had very much sleep the last week or so. But the boys do seem to be recovering! So hopefully I will be out of quarenteen soon! I canoot wait to be able to get out of the house! Hopefully it will stop raining soon!
